Sync photos / videos to your Google drive
These days there's hardly anyone not on Whatsapp, from business professionals to households. Every household also has a family group on Whatsapp where folks keep sharing photos / videos of events that happen.
After talking to users, we've come to the realization that media backup is still a major pain. The core issue is that Whatsapp & Google photos don't work well together. You can either backup all your Whatsapp media to Google photos, or not backup anything at all. The problem is, users don't want to backup the random junk they receive on certain groups. But they do want a backup of the media shared on the family groups ??
Imagine going for on a vacation with your loved ones. How are you going to save and share the amazing photos / videos you took on the trip. Advanced users would probably create a folder in Google photos and save them. But how are you going to share the pictures with your family. Or look at the ones that your significant half took from their phone.

Why should it be so hard to selectively backup the media shared on your important family groups to Google drive / Google photos ?

Today we're annoucing the Google Drive integration with SuperGroup 🚀
All you have to do is link your family groups with SuperGroup and enable the Google Drive integration. Lets go through the steps.
Step 1. Make a new folder in Google drive
Step 2. Share the folder with SuperGroup
Share the folder with google-sheets-updater@oauth-app-368203.iam.gserviceaccount.com so that SuperGroup can upload media on your behalf.
Step 3. Put the folder url in the SuperGroup dashboard
Go to the integrations tab, and enter the url of the folder you just created under Google drive and click the Add button. You can pause the sync if in case you choose to.
Step 4. Add the SuperGroup number to your family groups
Follow this tutorial to link your family groups with SuperGroup. In short:

We currently approve group requests manually every 2 hours. Yours should get approved soon.
Step 5. Sit back and enjoy
Your precious photos & videos should now start getting backed up in your Google drive folder. You can easily view them, import them into Google Photos or share them however you like without having to worry about losing them. And once you disable the Google photos backup option from Whatsapp, you'll be able to save lots of space on your Google photos account.
